At Journey Community Church we are all about following Jesus, making disciples and changing the world!
We envision being a transformational faith-community – We aim to be a community of grace and healing where people can encounter Jesus, grow in Christ and experience significant life change. We envision being an intentional faith community that represents Jesus through or words and our works. In other words…we’re not just going to invite people to church, we’re going to ‘be’ the church.
We envision blessing our city with the love of Jesus – We aim to minister to the real needs of people in Tacoma through ministries of care, compassion and creativity in our schools and neighborhoods, and by sharing of the good news of Jesus in both word and deed.
We envision reaching and discipling the next generation – We aim to see God raise up dynamic ministries designed for our children and youth that not only introduce them to Jesus, but help them grow into a deep and vital relationship with the Lord so they can be difference makers in the world for Christ.
We envision multiplying Kingdom ‘outposts’ – We aim to see our congregation gathering in a growing network of Community Groups where people can explore issues of faith, can journey spiritually together and can work together to establish expanding ‘outposts’ of ministry among new people in untouched areas.
We envision equipping new leaders for ministry – We aim to disciple and equip new leaders from among us to assist with the growing ministry God gives us. We look to see new group leaders, ministry leaders, pastoral staff, and future church planters trained from within our midst.
We envision planting churches locally and regionally – We aim to become a ‘training center’ in which potential church planters can be trained, supported and released to multiply thriving and transformational daughter churches locally and regionally for the cause of Christ.
We envision participating in the spread of the Gospel globally – We aim to invest in global missions by praying, giving, going on short term trips and sending out workers for the harvest. We also desire to give missions a ‘face’ by establishing ongoing partnerships with strategic missionary fields.
