When Journey trusted the Lord by reopening last July, we said that we would reopen with courage, prayer, creativity, and care. With the help of the Lord and with time, talent, and sacrifice of many from the Journey Family, we have been able to keep that promise. Thank you for your patience and endurance throughout what has been a challenging year.
Like many of you, we were excited to hear Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) update stating that fully vaccinated people could safely gather both indoors and outdoors without masks except where required by federal, state, or local laws, rules, and regulations. Our governor indicated that Washington State could move to full reopening by June 30 depending on the relevant COVID-19 data by that date. It’s encouraging to see that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel!
In light of the current state requirements for church gatherings, the Elders and Leadership at Journey have prayerfully decided to continue to love each other during our Sunday worship services by following the requirements for Phase 3:
- We will continue to wear masks because fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated people are present.
- We will continue to practice social distancing.
- We will continue to take temperatures.
- We will continue to ask for names for contact tracing if needed.
- We will not be separating the Journey family into vaccinated and non-vaccinated sections.
We ask that you join us in prayer as we look forward with hope that our state will reopen on June 30th. Especially pray that the number of people in the hospital will decrease. These are some of the numbers that will establish the reopening. Grace and peace to you all in Christ.
