Following Jesus – Making Disciples – Changing the World

What To Expect

What can I expect during an Encounter Service?
When you walk through our doors Sunday mornings you’ll  a welcoming, informal atmosphere where you’ll meet people just like you who grab a cup of coffee, enjoy some seriously good music and hear a talk from the Bible that is both challenging and down to earth. More than anything we want you to sense the presence of God in a creative and accepting environment where you can journey spiritually at your own pace. Our service begins promptly at 10:00 am.

What kind of people will I meet?
People just like you!  Everyone is welcome at Journey, and people come from all walks and stages of life.  What brings us all together is our shared passion to learn from Jesus.

What should I wear?
Come as you are!  God is interested in our hearts not our clothes.  We dress casually and comfortably, with most of us wearing jeans and t-shirts, or even flip-flops and a hat.

What if I bring children?
We love kids!  Journey Kids offers fun, interactive and educational classes for your children.  Simply check in at the Journey Kids Welcome Table before the service.  Journey Kids is separated into four age-appropriate zones:

  • Nursery (birth to 24 months)
  • Toddlers (ages 2 and 3)
  • Preschool/kindergarten (ages 4 and 5)
  • School Age (1st through 5th grade)

We ask you to keep your “School Age” children with you in the service until we release them to their classes prior to the message.

Will I be expected to give money?
We’re not interested in your money, we’re interested in you!  If you are a guest, please don’t feel any need or pressure to give.  The ministry of Journey relies on the faithful giving of the regular members of our church ‘family’.  If you are a follower of Jesus and would still like to contribute, we have offering boxes by the doors if you want to be generous towards God.

What’s the Pastor like?
Our Pastor’s name is Cade.  Cade and his wife, Sandi, have served ministries in Washington, Hawaii and Alabama prior to joining the Journey Church family in 2012. They enjoy traveling, exploring new places and sharing conversation with friends over a good cup of coffee.  Cade would love to join you for a cup at one of our local coffee shops, given the chance.
