What to Expect
Every Tuesday night, middle and high school students join together with our Journey Youth team for an evening of fun, food, and discipleship.
We play games, tell stories from our weeks over dinner, and spend time exploring scripture. Our hope is that Journey Youth Group is a welcoming environment for middle and high school students from all walks of life to let our guards down, destress and regain perspective, connect relationally, ask hard questions, and engage with the life-changing teachings of Jesus.
What’s Happening Now?
We are currently in a series called “God’s Crime Scene”—examining the evidence for a divinely created universe with former cold-case detective J. Warner Wallace.
1 Peter 3:15 instructs, “Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect” [AMP].
While faith is a crucial element of following Christ, Christianity doesn’t require you to check your brain at the door. In fact it’s the opposite. We can examine the evidence of the world around us, using science, data, and observations as tools to question the very existence of God. After all, if God doesn’t exist, we want to know about it! Our study on God’s Crime Scene will provide time to examine, question, and doubt in a safe and welcoming environment so that, as the scriptures teach, we will be ready to give a logical defense for the hope within us.
What if I can’t Come on Tuesdays?
That’s ok! There are lots of opportunities to connect. We regularly get together for fun events—bowling, mini golf, movie nights, escape rooms and more—e-mail Joel (firstname.lastname@example.org) to add your name to the Journey Youth e-mail list.
